What the readiness percent means
You’ll see a percent in a few places: on your dashboard next to your next event, on every row of your event list, and on the event’s own Overview. It is a checklist with the arithmetic done for you. It counts how many of a short list of steps are done, live, from what is actually in your event right now.
It is not a score, not a grade, and not an opinion about your show. Nobody at Planet Events is judging your event, and the number does not travel anywhere or affect anything.
What it counts
Build your run of show. Until there are blocks in it, there is nothing else to check, which is why this is first.
Set block energies. Every block wants an energy level from 1 to 5. That is what turns a list of times into an arc, and it is what FlowGenius reads when it spots two flat segments back to back.
Assign speakers. Talks, keynotes, panels, and testimonials each want a name attached before show day. Blocks that nobody speaks in are not counted, so a show with no speaking blocks does not get penalized for having no speakers.
Place the CTA moment. This one only appears if your event has a call to action. An event with no specific ask never sees this step and is never marked down for it.
What it deliberately doesn’t count
There is a fifth item, “Try a crew PDF,” and it carries an “optional” tag. It is a nudge rather than a requirement, and it never moves the percent in either direction. Exporting once before the day is the single cheapest thing you can do to make your show independent of us, so it sits on the list as a reminder.
Being honest about a rough edge: we don’t currently record whether you’ve exported, so that step stays unticked even after you have. It is on the list to be seen, not to be satisfied.
The next-action card
Under the percent, the app names the first thing that isn’t done and gives you a button straight to it. That is the whole intent of the number. The percent tells you roughly where you are, and the card saves you from hunting for what’s next.
On the dashboard, each event row does the same thing in miniature: a bar for how far along the show is, and a link that goes where the work is.
What 100% does and doesn’t mean
Full marks means nothing is missing that we know how to check. It does not mean the show is good, the pacing is right, or the room will respond. Those are the questions FlowGenius and the outlook band are for, and they answer in bands with reasons rather than in a number.
A 100% event can still be a weak one, and a 60% event three weeks out can be exactly on track. Use the percent for what it is, which is a list of the boxes that are still empty.
