Profile pictures
Everywhere Planet Events shows a person, it shows a face: your photo if you’ve added one, your initials in a colored circle if you haven’t. Initials are a complete face — nothing in the product needs a photo — but a real one is easier to spot in a row of collaborators, so you can upload your own.
Uploading one
Open Settings from the account menu and look at the top of the Profile card. Choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP photo up to 2 MB and click “Upload photo.” The circle beside the button is the exact same face teammates see, so what you’re looking at is what they get.
There is no cropping step: the photo is resized to a small square for you. Uploading again replaces the old photo everywhere at once.
Where it shows
Teammates see it in the people stack at the top of an event and of its guest agenda screen — the row of faces showing who else can open the event. You’ll also see it beside your own name in the account menu on the event and settings screens.
It never shows on anything guests hold: the crew PDF and the guest agenda print names, not faces.
What happens to your photo
The file is resized and re-encoded on our side — what we keep is our small copy, not your original — and any location data your camera wrote into the picture is removed in the process.
Your photo is only ever served to people signed in to Planet Events. There is no public link to it to hand around, and that is deliberate.
Removing it
“Remove photo” sits next to the upload button whenever you have an uploaded photo. Removing takes effect immediately: if your account came with a photo from your sign-in provider, that shows again; otherwise you’re back to initials.
Nobody is ever shown a broken image. A photo that fails to load falls back to initials on its own, which is the same circle you started with.
